Please Help Severe headache for over a month?

OK, first off I have suffered from migraines since I was 14 getting them about 1-2 a month or fewer. In Feb I was Diag with type 2 diabetes and had my gallbladder out 2 months ago... anyway 4 weeks ago I got this headache over my temples (different from MY migraines) took firocet (nothing) took ultram (nothing) wound up in the ER.. after 12 mg of morphine headache went from 9 to a 4. sent me home with vicodin and told me to see pcp. manged to keep headache under 6 with the vicodin. and pcp says no reason it's your sugar (checked my sugar at the ER 122 ) not my sugar BP 130/80 not my bp... I changed drs when she refused to listen to me. new doc is baffled. this is a constant pain over both temples steady pressure, and behind my eyes worsening with extreme eye movement, or closing, I am dizzy and as of today am having visual disturbances. (BP and sugar still ok) pain is also worse if I bend over, I have been on augmentin, avelox, (antibiotics) and a steroid taper pack also no sinus symptoms (stuffy nose, drainage, ect...)please help i can't deal with this anylonger
Answer:
Please see a neurologist and/or headache specialist, this may be chronic daily headache, migraine variant, psuedotumor cerebri, or even cerebral venous thrombosis from your antibiotics. you should atleast have an MRI of the brain and stop taking your firocet.
Stop asking the same question.
I know this sounds simple but do you have a lot of tension in your neck and shoulders? I had the same issue and my doc put me on a muscle relaxer and an anti inflammatory and it worked really well.
have them do an mri and any other test that will rule out any other problems. it sounded like sinusitis until you said it wasn't but there is obviously something going on and let's face it doctors only know and can do so much. how about an inner ear infection or vertigo. i had a friend who had this and the onset was quick and it lasted for weeks. the doc's have no idea as to why and it vanishes just as quickly. also consider the corn syrup in most drinks, snacks and foods any more. with you having diabeties it might affect that. i know most diet drinks have it. (this same friend had a problem with it too)i am sure that you have considered cluster headaches a possibility as you seem to be pretty up on all your medical issues. it could be one of the medications you are on. personally i would ask for the mri, then maybe start addressing the possibility it is one or more of the medications that you are having a problem with. it might not be them per se but something in them that is bothering you.
the only other option after all the tests is ask to see some sort of specialist, i know its frustrating but don't' give up as hopefully you will find a doctor that will not only listen but find out what the deal is. good luck
Have you tried alternative or Eastern therapies such as Accupuncture or Accupressure, herbology etc? you may discover that the medicines that they have developed for many thousands of years have the answer...since Western medicine seems unable to help, thus far. Has anyone done a brain scan? It seems like they may need to look inside your brain, but I'm certainly not a doctor...but have you had a head injury in the past? You have no additional symptoms like nausea or vomiting, right? What about motor problems...balance..memory loss? There are lots of other indicators that could show it to be something going on in your brain...but if there is only the pain...perhaps you should consider alternative therapies, as well as further examination by a brain surgeon.There are national clinical trials underway and some of them may include headaches which match that which you are experiencing...http://clinicaltrials.gov/search/term=he...Keep your wits about you and stay calm. I know you don't feel like laughing, but sometimes that helps...
We have treated 15 - 20 yrs cases.
There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation;
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine %26H/A confirms it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment. I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.
Avoid late sleeping if possible;spicy, sour, stale bakery foods and alcohole.
Sweet foods, sweet fruits, milk, rice and good sleep will help you.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it isvery strong.
If it is acute pl search a painful point 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.Source(s):
