Pulsating and throbbing?

my teeth are throbbing and the side of my face on my right and left like i could feel my heartbeat real close now theres numbness on the bottom of my nose comes back and goes away I have been to the doctor and they tell me I am fine and said it was allergy
Answer:
hi therewhat you are actually feeling maybe just be the arterial pulsation. Am sure your doctor examined you well to make sure there are no other more serious conditions except for allergy.During allergic rhinitis, or other form so allergy, all the blood vessels tend to dilate, thats why you can sense the arterial pulsation to be more prominent. I think you will be fine.
To be perfectly honest those are strange symptoms for an allergy. If the doctor you saw was your primary care doctor then I would start with an ENT, and work your way until a doctor who is a specialist finds the problem. Good luck.
Could have been a plause, but keep an eye on your blood pressure.

Pulled upper back muscle?

I pulled my muscle yesterday on my upper back just below my neck, I was just wondering why I got a really bad stinging sensation rather than pain? It still feels like its stinging now but only when I over stretch. Does anyone know what i can do to help it?
Answer:
See your dr. but in the meantime use ice and ibuprofen for the pain and inflammation. Heat will make it feel better short-term, but ice will bring down the swelling long-term, which is the cause of the pain.It may not be a pulled muscle, it may actually be a muscle spasm. For that you may need muscle relaxants and PT.Best wishes.
i pulled my pud it felt good
Get a deepheat rub or spray like ralgex this should help it also if you sit with your back on a hot radiator or go for a hot shower and direct the spray onto the sore area it should ease the pain a bit
sounds like u trapped a nerve or a nerve was pinched but please be careful and have it checked by doc also support under your arms while sat with pillow or cushion it does help

Pulled muscle? Doctors and anybody that knows please answer?

I think I pulled my trapezius muscle(the one in your upper back that connects to yor neck)., and its alot harder to lift my right arm now. I was just wondering what is the best and fastest way to heal it.
Answer:
How long ago did you pull it?? It may feel better on its own, just try not to use your arm for anything too strenuous.but if it doesnt you need to go see a doctor, for you may have torn the muscle.you may need some professional physical therapy for it. good luck
that sounds like it would hurt. Have you tried ice? Or maybe a hot pad or something. Maybe ask your local doctor or pharmisist ( sorry I can't spell) HaHa. Man I don't know. I have pulled lots of muscels before but not like that! Hope you get to felling better. OUCH!

Pulled muscle?

Any one ever pull a hamstring muscle in upper part of leg?
How long did it take to get better?
Thanks. Virago Jim
Answer:
RICER- Rest
I- Ice
C- Compress
E- Elevate
Yeah.it takes about a month..if u take care of it( stretch)....if u dont.then longer..like 2 months
I have pulled a muscle in the upper part of my leg before...It took about a week and a half to heal. I kept working out on it though. so I am sure it would have healed sooner if I would have let it rest. I think the key is to constantly stretch it and put heating pads on it.
mine took 2 weeks till i could walk without a limp. just take motrin and put a heating pad on 2x a day for 30 min. it should help.
many many times. if it hurts just to walk, then it could be 2-3 weeks. if its just when you run. maybe a week or 2.
but once you get that injury its going to keep coming back, so always make sure you stretch good and hard from now on. trust me, i have had it constantly for 3 years. never stops coming back
my took like a week and a half
Depends. I've done it 2 times. 1st time it only took a week because it wasn't that serious. Second time it happened it took like a month. It depends on how severe it is.
Hi Jim, No i have never pulled a hamstring before, but i had a totally knee replaced and it took a year for me to get thought something like that. A lot of therapy. I hope you feel better soon.

Pulled Muscle in upper leg... how long does it usually take to heal?

I fell yesterday in mud and pulled the muscle in my upper leg ( actually dr said not sure if I pulled or tore the hamstring )
how long does something like this take to heal... I am having hard time doing anything!! ( and staying off of it is nearly impossible with 8 kids!! :-)
Answer:
If you only pulled it, it could take from a few days to a couple weeks, but if it's torn, you better find a doctor that can verify if it is and get it taken care of asap.
could take weeks
rest, ice, ibuprophin
6-8 weeks.
Couple of days for me usually.Although i've never actually 'torn or pulled' a hamstring.
I'm just talking about a pulled muscleUse one of those heat bags(you know the type - you heat them up and use them for period pains..) they work wonders on achesAlthough i doubt you've had many periods with 8 kids! wow!
weeks maybe more ice bag on it or somethin take care
a pulled muscle heals slowly and is hard to get it to heal

Pulled leg muscle?

I pulled a muscle in my upper right leg at softball last week. It hurts a little to walk but hurts very bad to run or sit criss cross or squat down. I have tried ice %26 heat but it hasn't helped. I can't exactly take a break because we have two games a week %26 practice once a week.Any ideas? or could it be something more serious?
Answer:
It sounds like you did pull it. You'll need to keep up on the ice and heat, and take some ibuprofen. It's an anti-inflammatory as well as a pain reliever, so it'll help reduce heat and swelling in your leg and improve healing.Since you won't take a break from softball, try going really easy on it the rest of the day. Put your leg up, or in some comfortable position whenever possible. Do as little walking on it as you can and make sure you get plenty of rest. Your body heals itself while you sleep. If you don't start feeling better in a week, you'll need to see a doctor, but he'll just tell you to lay off softball.
just go to the doc
You dont have a choice but to slow down. If you push it you can tear the muscle and then you would be riding the pine pony for the rest of the season. Best thing you can do is put your leg in an ice bath and get a few massage sessions. Stretching the muscle will do nothing but agravate it at this point.
I would suggest taking some iron and calcium, it helps the muscle relax after the strain. If you're really worried about it, go see your doctor.Hope that helps!
thats normal. just bear the pain for a while or just take a muscle pain reliever. The pain willbe out in a week time, though. Next time, try todo much stretching before playing the game, this is to contidion your muscles
It's most likely a muscle tear or strain. Rest it as much as you can. Ice is better than heat. Stretching for 10 minutes several times daily and during your sport will help keep things loose. Muscle tears and sprains need rest and stretching to heal properly. You can try to play through it but you may end up with some scarring and future problems. Unfortunately, that kind of muscle injury can take a while to heal.

Pulled a stomach muscle?

Okay, im using this question for my sister, last night she went to bed with bit of a discomfort in her stomach, our dad woke her up for work this morning and she was getting dresed she noticed that her stomach had bruises all over it, i think she counted about six or seven and one on her back, we thought of everything that might have done it, but nothing made sense, she didnt fall off her bed its very low to the ground it wouldnt leave that, soccer.. no that wasnt it, knocked into something... no would have remembered that. so we went to the doctors and he was like thats so weird. it gives her alot of pain, just a constant soreness then out of nowhere she gets a rather sharp pain that goes from about her collarbone to her mid thigh, we also got blood work done just incase, could she have puled a muscle?... would it have caused so much bruising?
Answer:
That doesn't sound like a pulled muscle to be honest. It could be other varying conditions, just wait until the blood test results come back. Hope she will be ok.
She could of beaten herself in her sleep..
Not kidding, I've done it.
But if she pulled a muscle, I'm pretty sure she could feel it.
That is very weird. She could have some sort of bleeding disorder in which her blood isn't clotting as it should such as hemophilia. As I understand it any sort of injury even mild barely noticed things can cause internal/external bleeding that doesn't cease on it's own or at least takes longer to stop. This might explain her bruising (which is basically pooled blood in an area) and might explain why it's continued instead of healing like a normal bruise. If this is the case her doctor may prescibe drugs that can help her blood clot more normally.
Has she had a bad cough? I've heard of men with very strong chest and ab muscles actually breaking their own ribs and/or collapsing a lung with a forcible cough.---That would also explain the bruising and discomfort. Far fetched though.
If this continues, ask the doc to order x-rays of the abdomen/pelvis flat and upright as well as a chest film. He may even order a CT scan of the chest and abdomen with and without contrast.
by pull the stomach " for the 1st time or after a long time
no exercise"
then can very sharp pain But no bruises.
or if she had be wearing any skirt which was
very tight fitting.
Or did she went to any night club in the weekend or
some party?

Pulled a muscle in my arm?

I have pulled muscle at the top of my arm and was wondering what is best for a pulled muscle, and if anyone knows how long it will take to heal?
Answer:
Ice it off and on a few days. Rest it. To fully heal could take 2-3 weeks. Do not take Tylenol for pain, something else. Interferes with muscle healing.

Pulled a muscle !! need help!!!?

hi i am a pregnant female and i pulled my middle back/ribs muscle. the doc told me i pulled them by puking so much. but anyway it hurts so bad to do anything (swallow, cough, laugh, walk) and its really getting frustrating.does anybody have any advice on what to do and what is the best painkillers. i would greatly appreciated it thank you
Answer:
Well since you are pregnant, there is not many painkillers besides tylenol that you can use without a doctors advise or watch. But, if it is on your back, you could try using an ice pack first for inflammation becuase most likely that is causing you more pain. next, try rubbing or have someone rub some pompeian brand olive oil onto the affected area until absorbed and place a heating pad on a comfortable setting. Just make sure that you do not do put a heating pad where the baby is. If you feel you must then only for a short period of time on the lowest setting as a setting too high can affect the baby like if you were in a hot tub or sauana. anywhere else is ok.Massage in the area can do wonders too before or after you do the other steps or on its own. Good luck and hope you feel better.
Try stretching your back as much as possible. Ibuprofen would be good to take, but make sure that whatever you take is OK with your doctor since you are pregnant. Ice would also be helpful and possibly lying down.
Plenty of Rest and ICE!
strech were it is and what they just said and put ice on it

What????

Public health care: how come it is only framed in the terms of doctors earnings and not people's health?

Answer:
Because nobody gives a damn about you if you can't afford insurance. You're poor. Screw you. On the other hand, doctors are generally wealthy, and therefore matter a lot more.Hope this helps!
I think doctors should be kindness to all life, otherwise it is poor to the patients.
Because it is a business and follows the rules of all business.profit is the only goal!

Psoriatic Arthritis?

I am almost 25 years old and have Psoriatic Arthritis in a lot of my joints. My fingers and knees are the worst. I am on enbrel and going through my insurance to get my dose increased as the former dose is not working well anymore. Until this authorization gets approved and the higher dose gets into my system, does anyone have an remedies for the pain I suffer. I am to the point I cannot use a can opener, open a jar/bottle, and worry if I tighten my daughters sippy cup enough. I'd like to control the pain without pain killers and work on building the strength in my hands to be able to do the tasks again. With my knees, you can hear them grind and it is hard going up and down the flight of stairs to get to my apartment. Does anyone have any ideas for me? Thanks in advance!
Answer:
try Mona-vie active it is good for Arthritis better then meds in most cases you can get it from here http://www.mymonavie.com/health4you/inde...and you can make money with it

Psoriasis? (Doctor not an option)?

I obtained a rash a while back. First it started out as a bunch of bumps and every time i would get stressed out they would itch like crazy. I've tried every over the counter med i could think of, nothing works. I try to keep my stress level under control but life is life and i can't always control it. It's embarrassing. I never go swimming anymore, i miss the skin i used to have, it was so clear and smooth and now its ruined in patches here and there. I know it is psoriasis though, it runs strong in both my parents and looks just like theirs. Now it constantly itches, im in constant pain, especially taking a shower, it burns like none other. I dont even know if i should keep it moist or dry because both seemed to make it worse. Covering it made it worse too. I can't see a doctor, can't afford one. And my parents just let theirs go so they have no advice for me. any help whatsoever??
Answer:
After I take a shower, I don't dry myself off. I apply Desitin to my body. Desitin is baby rash cream. But it is 40% Zinc. (Make sure you read the back of the label and buy the one that has the most Zinc) Zinc helps in healing wounds. It's what they use in the nursing homes when patients get bed sores. It will help heal your skin and keep your skin well hydrated. It's terribly sticky and an annoying to apply, but it works. Also, applying lotion just keeps your body from letting moisture escape. But if you don't have very much moisture in your skin, it won't help. So if you apply lotion when your skin is wet, the lotion traps the moisture.
See a doctor!
you can buy topical products with either zinc in them or with salicylic acid in them that will ease the itch and get rid of the red scaly skin. there is also an over the counter creme you can ask the pharmacist for (not RX, but behind the counter) that is about $6-7 a bottle -- I forget the name, but my husband uses it for his psoriasis too. He uses RX medication, but still also uses the OTC creme for the itchiness.
My psoriasis is limited to my scalp, so I'm not sure how much help this may be-but buy some nizeral (sp) and T-gel shampoos, as strong a strength as you can get, and use those to wash the areas daily. Alternate them. They won't be as helpful as prescription medications, but they may help keep it under control. And if you can afford it-trot to your nearest tanning salon-ultraviolet light/vitamin D is one of the recommended treatments for psoriasis, my doctor actually did that to me (although he did say it increased the risk for skin cancer, talk about a lose-lose). Or just try to expose the areas to some sunlight!
Hope it helps, I know it isn't a pleasant disease.
And you can find the shampoos in the medicated/dandruff shampoo aisles.
If it is Psoriasis then you should be keeping it moist, and exfoliating it in the shower gently. Dont use fancy creams to moisturise, just vitamin E cream or something similar. the more natural the better.
My sister suffers from this and recieves UV treatment in a specially designed chamber. She also uses tar based creams, prescribed by her doctor.
my father once had a worker/staff having a psoriasis...some say that it is incurable and is due mainly to stress...A positive outlook could be a great cure for that skin disease...But did you know that my father prayed for that person and in a few weeks got his skin back?
Maybe we just have to go for the real doctor..
Could it be herpes zoster? If so, you really should go to a doctor.
For years I have tested so many techniques
to help my Psoriasis, and some things have
helped more than others. Some things I have
done have worked very well. Many other
people have different stories on what
helped them the most. For more details plz

Using a natural remedy is your best option, and they are less likely to cause an allergic reaction and are easily absorbed by the skin. Essential oils can really help, but if you want home remedies, you can try http://www.skinoriginal.com/psoriasis/6-... for some tips. Hope it helps you.

Pro's and cons of a good night's sleep and an all-nighter?

All nighter: extra 8 or 7 hours just added to the day---Im so busy I need those hours. Just slep hard the next night.Good Night sleep: Body feels better, but stressed out because i could have used hours to get alot of work done, that now I have to finish in a limited time.Which is better? Having sleep or having hours?
Answer:
Sleep is good but getting that work done can allow you to sleep later
Having sleep, I feel more refreshed all a good nights sleep. It also isn't good for your body to not get any sleep.
Having sleep, not sleeping is horrible for the body and the mind...I suppose pulling an all-nighter every once in a while would be okay but in the end I think you just feel worse.
Sleep is as imperative for the bady as food and water. On top of that someone can die sooner for lack of sleep than they can from dehydration or malnutrition. Sleep is what keeps your brain functioning, it recoops everything. If you take that away, your brain starts tricking itself. Not fully functioning. You could hurt yourself, or someone else. Below is a web-site that tells you the risks. What I had to do when I was in college and had a full plate of things to do was make a list. Prioritize your list. And stick to it. Try a little meditation during the day, when you are stressed your body doesn't work as well. Remember to eat as well. Take vitamins that have fish oils in them. They are good for the memory. To answer your question having sleep is much much better! Good luck! Try not to over do yourself!

Propoxyphene vs vicoden and percocet?

how does propoxy measure up?
Answer:
Of the 3 propoxyphene (Darvon, Darvocet) provides the least analgesic effect.
I would say Propoxyphene %26lt; vicodin %26lt; percocetIt's pretty weak.
check 'em yourself:
Propoxyphene is a pain medication that is more for short term use, such as after an acute injury or surgery. If used for chronic pain such as cancer or permanent injuries with pain it looses its effects and you end of with its metabolite instead of pain control, just like demerol. On the otherhand, Vicoden, which is a combination of hydrocodone and tylenol, and percocet which is a combination of oxycodone and tylenol, are first line treatments for chronic pain. Percocet is often better because oxycodone does not have a dosing ceiling and once a patient has built up a tolerance the tylenol can be dropped from the combination and the patient can then be given straight oxycodone with adjustments to keep the pain undercontrol.
It doesnt. Take the opioids for better pain control as it is for more serious rececptor influence. The brain will tell you that propoxyphene isnt as good and send signals to your hand gragging the right stuff. Studys have shown that a couple of Vicodins are far more better than the Propoxyphene junk the doctor tries to give you at first. Percocet on the other hand is good if you take them on a empty stomach. Dont mix cause it is a waste. Ask for the number 10s' and dont take no for an answer, remember its your BUZZ........
propoxyphene isa narcotic also but not as strong i dont think as the other two but its a nardcotic nun the less its DARVON
Darvocet or Propoxyphene is the weakest. Additionally, it interacts poorly with drugs like valium. The (vicodin)hydrocodone versus the oxycodone (percocet) depends on the dosage. If I had a choice between a 10mg/325mg vicodin or a 5mg/500mg percocet I would choose the vicodin. Unless I can get a 7.5mg/200mg vicoprofen.

Professional please!. side aches!?

I am a 15 year old girl who dances constantly. I started getting terrible side aches, so i asked friends and family what to do, and they said that i should try drinking less;drinking more;breath more;or breath with my mouth closed. I have tried all of that stuff and it never seems to work. The pain can be in either sides of my stomach. I don't just get them when im dancing, i get them when im running, or even just walking! I can't even get through one performance without a terrible sideache. any suggestions?
Answer:
you may have a mineral depletion. try a good daily mutlivitamen and also something like gatoraide when you are doing any exercises. perhaps you can try to warm up before heading into a routine. goodluck;)michele
I read this some where recently. I think it might have something to do with your salt levels. Try drinking gatorade or something like that with electrolytes- drink it about 20-30 minutes before you work out.
Professionals? You mean doctors? There aren't too many around here I imagine. Perhaps you should GO VISIT ONE!
sounds like cramps. try drinking more water. if that dosen't help then go see your doctor. you may have pulled something in your side
sounds like a case of constocondritis. this is a condition in which the muscles and bones rub together, it is very painful and the longer you go without treatment the worse it will get.

Problems sleeping?

I start getting tired around 11pm, but unable to actually fall asleep until 4am. I have to get up around 7/8am to deal with the kids. This happens every night.
The doctor gave me Valium, but it just makes me a little dizzy for about an hour and that's it.Anyone ever go through this?`
Answer:
Knock off the caffeine after noon, then try a cup of very warm milk with a little honey in in just before bed. It really does work! Some lavender scented oil on your pillow is relaxing too. Be sure to shut the TV off if you have on in your room, but some soft music might help.
Do NOT drink alcohol! You will sleep for a little while and then wake up. Even a small amount can give you a headache andit's not worth it. Sweet dreams!
Is there an issue bothering you? Do you have caffeine in the form of coke, coffee or tea after 3 pm? Do you exercise late at night? Does this happen all month or just at certain times? Is it different during a full moon? Unless any of the above answers are positive then maybe you have low estrogen levels? Hmm. Its the worst when you are sleep deprived. Can you try turning on a fan for white noise? That would give a muffled sound if noise is a factor. I feel sorry for you
I have ADHD and I am never able to sleep properly. I have also tried Valium as well as Xanax, Ambien, Lunesta and good old fashion Benadryll. I tried everything. The doctors said to start "winding down" about 2 hours before I planned to go to bed. "Take a nice relaxing bath", "warm milk", "hot tea" and of course the great placebo... Melatonin. What a joke. Finally, after my psychiatrist had given up, my OBGYN prescribed Vistaril. It's an antihistamine and I get the best full nights sleep I have ever had. It's not classified as a sleep aid and it's non-addictive. The generic is extremly cheap (Hydroxazinepam). It's worth a shot. Good Luck.
drink a couple beers that will do it, it good for you and you'll sleep like baby

Problems Sleeping...?

I work nights so when I get home I have troubles getting to bed...Is there a natural way to help me get to sleep?
Answer:
Take a walk a couple hours before you sleep.
Do something relaxing before you sleep.
Listen to smooth, easy listening music.
Don't go on the computer or watch television.
Don't do to much thinking before sleeping.
Drink a glass of water.
Don't eat before you sleep.
Have a bath, drink some tea, read a book.
I've heard that lettuce and cabbage juiced fresh makes you sleepy, but I'm sure it taste horrid. I read it in a Juicer Book
aways make sure there are no noises when your sleeping.
go and buy a cd of tibet monks humming .play while you lay down ..damn that would put you sleep fast
all you have to do is drink some milk before you go to bed
Drink any flavored warm milk and read a book or a magazine.
dwink milky like a widdle baby wabby, jk. i do that :)
Just sit motionless in your bed, with your eyes closed. Just don't think about anything.
Been there, done that, sister! It's TOUGH!Buy some black out curtains or blinds if you have windows in your bedroom. They make my room completely dark during the day.that will help trick your body.Do NOT eat something heavy before going to bed OR drink caffeine.Suggest a good, hot bath with some aromatherapy that promotes sleep.Try keeping the same routine when you get home so that your body knows when it's time to sleep.Use bedroom for sleep, no TV/Movie watching or computer work.I'm a nurse and I understand that part of this is tricking the body. Our bodies have certain sleep rhythmns and we aren't made to stay up all night and sleep during the day.You also might try a light sleeper, such as 25mg or less of Benadryl.Benadryl is Diphenhydramine.it's the ingredient in Tylenol PM. I usually take a children's chewable Benadryl which is just 12.5mg because medication affects me strongly.Hope some of that helped you. Sweet dreams, dear. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ... :)

Proactiv refining mask, how do you use it?

Well, on the TV commercial about the refining mask they say they put it on at night and wake up with no acne in the morning. On the bottle, it says to rinse it after 15 minutes. I am really confused about this. Are you supposed to leave it on, or rinse it off like the instructions say?
Answer:
Just put a little on, and leave it on. Do not wash it off.: )

Preventing bad eyesight!! what to do?

Answer:
Yes its genetics and there is not much you can do about it.You can eat fruits with beta carotene but it will not keep you from wearing glasses.But just cause your family wears them don't necessary mean you will even thought its genetics.%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;
Eat a lot of fruits, vegetables, especially carrots! They help a lot!

Pre-surgery pain coming back post surgery?!?

I had a giant cell tumor removed from the back of my knee/leg. It is 3 weeks post op and I'm still having the same pressure/pain as I did pre-op. Is that normal?!
Answer:
I would think so. I had brain surgery last year to have a a tumor removed and correct something else called a Chiari Malformation and the pain was still there (Not as bad) for up to a year later. It will get better with time!!! I was nervous like you are. Good Luck with your healing process and I hope you feel better!
GO BACK TO SEE YOUR DOCTOR.
You brain thinks you still have the tumor. Amputees "feel" their legs. Don't worry this is part of the recuperation, you will be fine. God Bless!

good luck hope u feel better.

Prematch football. How long and intense should massage be? best type oil to use?

Answer:
Best type oil for joints and bones will be sesame oil. but in ayurvedic therapy, this sesame oil is mixed with mustard oil ( for men theraphy). But aromatheraphy massage is about what sense that you want to have. is it refreshed, calmed and balanced, energize, this kind of things. But to gain some joints and bones release, lemongrass do well.
How long? it is depends on your body's state. Too much lactic accid means longer massage. Over 75 - 120 minutes can be a relaxing ones. Also the techniques are varies.
A good massage means: you will fallen asleep during the massage. A bad one means you will feel tense during and after a massage. Go to asian masseus as they have more sensual touch which means more relaxing and enjoyable.

Power walking and stitches in the sides?

when i walk i get the pain in the sides.i walk very fast and usually go for about an hour, the pain starts after 15min already.i have tried a different breathing technique but it deosnt work at all.any help?what am i doing wrong?
Answer:
dehydration is the number one casue of this. Drink lots of fluids, if you're walking that much I would suggest at least 10 glasses of water a day.
your walking with stitches in your side thats whats wrong lol. It doesnt matter how you try and do it . you are still working out the same muscles .. everytime you do so it stretches out the tissue that you are trying to keep closed. Id wait it out a lil longer .. until your wound has had time to heal. Stitches are usualy needed for a wound that needs time to heal inside first then out . remember that .
That used to happen to me all the time too. I couldn't figure out how to avoid it, got it everytime I went running or power-walking. I don't think it will hurt you, but it sure is annoying. At some point I guess I just grew out of it, I think I was about 20 y.o. when it stopped.
Are you talking about a muscle "stitch" or a suture "stitch" ? I'm guessing the muscle "stitch." First, you must rest those muscles, remember the old joke,"Hey,Doc it hurts when I do this, and the Doc replies,"Don't do that,if it hurts". Give the walking a rest, develop a routine without it for a while.I'm reading in my sport's injury chapter, and it suggests that you have it evaluated, and start from there. Stretching and gaining strength %26 flexibility,in those muscles will help, along with balance, you may be doing something wrong,a trainer can help you reform your tech. Keep hydrated, and keep your potassium levels up. Swimming is a excellent activity for conditioning that area. Take care. SW RNP

Have seen the doctor 3 times since surgery, he can't figure it out...arthritis, hamstring strain? PT with ice, no relief...meds don't do much either...gets worse as the day goes on...hard to flex. 46 y/o former UT runner...where is the pain coming from? The pain is right behind the knee and throbs at times, night time in the bed as well. Worse as the day goes on. Have had 4 surgerys on this knee...Grade IV femoral malicia. Is it a possible tear, baker cyst or what causing the pain? I have run out of options. Anybody experience this? Relief mechanisms? Recovery time?
Answer:
I doubt it is a Baker's cyst - they get quite large and you would be ale to see a bulge. Possible patella femoral syndrome? You could also have a horrible case of OA. I am 37 and I have had five knee surgeries (one to remove a Baker's cyst). I know the majority of my problems now are due to OA...Not much you can do about it unless you go for a knee replacement. Maybe you should go to a different doc to get a second opinion. I have a fantastic surgeon now.if you want his name, let me know (I live in Austin)
Have you considered a possible blood clot?
I'd have your doctor do an ultrasound or xray to check for clot.

Post appendectomy question?

I had my appendix out two n a half months ago and the scar has healed up nice. But at the very top there is still an internal stitch that keeps on protruding into my skin everytime i lay down causing a little bump. And when you push down on it, it almost feels like a little wire. Is this normal? I have a dr appointment tomorrow for him to check it out?
Answer:
If the suture is a dissolvable material, your body will eventually absorb it without a problem. If it is not absorbable, your doctor may cut it out tomorrow. It is a simple procedure, it shouldn't hurt, especially because scar tissue is not as sensitive as normal skin.
yes, let your Dr. know. He will probably pull the end of the stitch out with tweezers and cut it with tiny sharp scissors. That happened to me when I had my gallbladder removed. I had an interior stitch that was sticking out of the skin and the skin started to grow over it causing a little bump but when I touched it or anything near it, it felt like a wire sticking me in an area that was already tender.

Possibly a concussion??

Yesterday afternoon I was playing kickball and ran into my brother and we hit heads i fell over and my whole head felt like it was going to explode.. then it felt like i needed to throw up.. i stood up and started to walk and i was super dizzy and had a huge headache... within 2 minutes above my eye was completely swollen and bruised down onto the eyelid..I ignored all of that and just kept playing.. then this morning when i woke up my eye was swollen shut (it isn't anymore) my head was throbbing and when I tried to stand up I was really dizzy... i am super tired and have been sleeping all day (i don't feel sick anymore) why is this happening and what should I do?? I would really like to stay away from the doctors-- besides if it is a concussion what can they do about it?
If it matters I am 15-- I have told my dad and he isnt worried bout it at all.
Answer:
Dad's aren't usually worried, because it's normal for kids to do stupid things (like, run head-first into their brothers). It could be a concussion . . . it could be something worse. If you pass out, or your pupils stop responding (if they don't shrink in the light), then you should go see a doctor. Otherwise, put some ice on that eye and take some tylenol (not asprin, not ibuprofen, advil, excedrin . . . ) so that next time, you'll be able to see, and won't bash your brains out.

Possible pain medication side effect?

I've been on pain medication for a few days now, and the pills seem to make me a bit...amorous. Could that be a factor based on the medication, or is it all in my head from not feeling the pain?

You don't say what kind of medication it is exactly, but I think it's all in your head based on what of know of most pain meds.
Also it could actually cause you to not be able to "follow through" if you are feeling amorous, ya know what I mean?
LMAO... I had a girlfriend that took a narcotic cough syrup for Bronchitis and she wouldn't take no for an answer.. it is funny.. I think it is because of the intoxicating effects of the narcotics, but don't know about when it comes to something like Tramadol.
When I have used pain medication in the past after being in a car accident I noticed it did the same to me.. all a sudden if I liked a girl I was iiiiin lllllllove.haha..to the woman's answer above on "following through"... classic... funny but true..

Possible lawsuit?

Ok well my dad got a surgery for his hernia and it caused him to have these giant bruises around his thighs and genitalia, the bruises have not completely healed. It's been over 2 months since the operation. We also think there is nerve damage, he has lost a lot of his energy and can't stand for very long without getting sore. The main bruise left is on his genitals.
Answer:
Don't think so. That's a normal part of that type of surgery. My dad looked the same way, and eventually the bruising went away.

Possible Carpal Tunnel??

I cashiered for a few years. Now I work in a warehouse picking orders. Plus I am on my computer a lot.My hands go numb off and on. Mostly at night while I am sleeping. And to the point of extreme pain. Almost feels like they are on fire it hurts so bad. Anyone think this may be Carpel Tunnel? My mother had it in both wrists as well as Tendinitis in all 10 fingers. Could it be hereditary?
Answer:
It is possible. Night pain and numbness are classic symptoms. The distribution is usually that of the median nerve which covers the first three digits and thumb side of the palm.Certain conditions can make you more prone to it: diabetes, history of injury and family history may play a role.
It is possibleThis link has more info
http://groups.msn.com/arayofhope/carpelt...You really need to see your doctor who can arrange for tests and treatment if necessary.Good luck A.D.
it's a possibility I have had both carpal tunnel is caused from doing too much receptive work and cause problems in your hand I know cause this happened to me and I had to have surgery and I was laid up for about 6 weeks not fun! my advice would be to make a Doctor appointment just to make sure that is what I think it is I think you have carpal tunnel also I had it and it's not very fun I had to wear a brace for a long time till i had surgery now I am fine cause I don't do repetitive anymore! good luck to you I honestly hope you don't have this!

Popping joints?

well im fifteen and my joints are always popping especially in my knees. they pop in my shoulders and elbows. after i do alot of walking or so my knees start to hurt. if i jump to hard my knees will start to hurt too . i went for a check up awhile back and the doctor told me it was because i am double jointed, but it just recently started when i was about 13. does anyone know what this problem could be.
Answer:
my grandmother and my 11 year old little brother both have popping joints my grandmother doctor told her something about air in between but anyway it is a sign of arthritis
I'm double jointed too and my knees pop too.But my family has been known to have bad knees. I don't know if it is just a coincidence.
I think you're doctors right. You're 15, you're still growing, you're muscles and ligaments are still adjusting.Go back to the doctr if you're still not happy.
If the popping doens't hurt (i know you said it hurts in you're knees), but if you're joints pop and don't hurt elswhere, as yet, i wouldn't be worried about it. Often it's just harmless popping, basically you're joints releasing gas.
If it hurts, get it checked out, but being double jointed, OR Hypermobile as it's often called, does mean that you WILL EXPERIENCE JOINT PAIN. Joint pain comes with being double jointed.
Here's some info from NHS Direct about Hypermobility.

Popping behind kneecap?

The other day I had squatted down to pick something up, and my right leg locked up and I heard a small pop (kinda like when you rotate your shoulder in a circular motion type pop) so when I stood up I heard it pop again. Immediately my leg was numb, and after about a minute of just moving my leg everything seemed to be ok (except it was a little sore) The next day my leg was sore. And today the exact same thing happened. What's wrong with my leg? It seems like it's coming from behind my knee because when I exercise my leg bringing it close to my body it seems to hurt behind the knee.
Answer:
There's a lot behind your knee to damage. The acl is the most common injury. You could have damaged your menisci (cartilage) or it could just be plain arthritis. I had the same problem, but mine was due to a torn acl. I had to have surgery to replace it. My knee has no problems now whatsoever. I would check with an orhtopedic doc and have them check it out. They would more than likely do an MRI to find out. Better to be safe than sorry though. You need your knees and it's good to keep them strong and working.

Popped blood vessels in the eye?

what causes he blood vessels in the eye to pop?
Answer:
I had the same thing and went to the doctor for it. It looks much worse than it really is. The Dr. told me it would clear up withing 1-2 weeks and that it is usually caused by some sort of strain or pressure. It can even occur as a result of a sneeze. So, having said that if you are not having any other symptoms it is probably nothing to worry about. If it does not go away within a couple of weeks then I'd see a doctor about it.
There is a ton of things that can cause a vessel to pop. If you didn't physically damage it chances are that it just had too much blood pressure built up. It'll go away in probably less than two weeks. There is nothing you can really do for it except look like you got in a vicious fight for the duration.
I once had a blood vessel pop in my eye. After a fantastic night out and too much to drink, i was sick all night, the next day my eye was bright red i had burst a blood vessel. being sick did it for me. It cleared up on its own.No way was i going to the doc!!

Pop the chigger bite bubble?

I got a bunch of chigger bites two days ago, and now some of them have these pimply-like bubble. I was just wondering if I should use a sterilized needle to pop them or just leave them alone. I've already accidentally popped some of them by scratching in my sleep.Thanks.
Answer:
I hate chiggers! The bumps will pop on their own. I usually get a q-tip and dip it in bleach. I dab it on each individual bite. Then I cover myself in hydrocortisone cream.

Poor Blood Circulation or something else?

For about a year now I have had problems with my blood. I seem to have tingling in my legs and arms. In addition I have back and neck pain. Althought the pain is not severe it does cause for discomfort. I don't know why I would have circulation problems because I go to the rec everyday and I have been taking cayenne also. I am wondering if it could be something else.
Answer:
You have pinched nerves you need an NSA chiropractor they are different than regular. Also how is your posture? Definitely go to a NSA chiropractor I have seen them work miracles.
Uhh, yeah. Where did u come up w/ poor circulation anyways.
It sounds more likely to be neurological.
Diabetes can cause problems. Another possibility would be thyroid disorders. A good medical history, a Doctors exam and blood tests are the best way to screen this. A new anti-depressant may offer relief as could atypical psycotic drugs but the Doctor's professional role is key.
I've had the same symptoms of pain before I changed my mattress a good bed can work wonders. You may want to look into a more supportive mattress. If your fairly comfortable on your bed. It could be tendinitis or arthritis. I'd check with your doctor also you my just be over working your muscles

Pooping with mucus?

when my 3 year son is now pooping with mucus in it, I have no idea why, he hasn't eaten anything different, can anyone help me out here
Answer:
Causes include:
Ulcerative Colitis and Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Bacterial Infections
Bowel ObstructionThe article says "Mucus without an underlying cause such as a pre-existing condition should be reported to a physician immediately."GO TO THE DOCTOR
Call your pediatrician. It doesn't sound like a dietary issue.
Well, in adults it could be an irritable bowel, which a 3 yr old could have. It changes the way the food is digested and passed through the intestine.
go to DOCTOR!!!!!!!!...
It can also be a bacterial thing. If your child is in daycare he could have gotten it there. There have been more reported cases of "colonitis" type outbreaks in schools lately. It's a sanitation thing.

POISON IVY ON LIP! help!!?

yes im sure it is poison ivy, i have a little on my chin too. it's on my top lip, and it is really nasty. it is just a little bumpy now, but i don't want it getting any bigger. i got it from my dog because she ran in it and then scratched me, it has happenend several times before. usualy i use rubbing achol(however it is spelled) but it is on my lip, and i'm not sure what i can put on it.I havn't been scratching it, and i don't plan to. usualy i get rid of it by drying it out, so thats what i'm doing. if it doesn't get better by the weekend, i will try to go to the doctor. I play the french horn, and it isn't too easey to play like this, lucklly it is summer, so i don't have anything to work on. But the longer i go without playing, the harder it is to play again.help!
Answer:
I had the same problem last week! It's awful! I was exposed to poison ivy (and didn't know it) on a Monday afternoon, and then next morning I could feel a few small red bumps on my chin. I thought it was just a skin reaction, bug bites or zits. The next morning I woke up with it all over my face, (especially on my chin and lips). I went to the dr and got a shot of a steroid (pregnizone) and a prescription for it. Unfortunately, that didn't help too much. It began to spread to my hands, arms, legs and stomach. I was miserable. I bought ivydry, caltaid, Zanfel, calamine lotion. The Zanfel would seem to work a little- it would relieve the itch and start to heal the area- but it just kept spreading. With Zanfel costing $40 a small tube, and the poison ivy getting worse, I went back to the dr. I told him all I had been doing (even changing sheets everyday and that kind of stuff) and he said I have a bad case of it and he was going to give me another shot of a different steroid. That night, I felt a huge difference! The itching had almost completely stopped and I was able to sleep through the night. It is now 2 days later and the poison ivy is just about gone.
If your poison ivy is spreading and really uncomfortable, I recommend going to the dr. If I hasn't done that a few days ago, I would still be in agony. Good luck!
There is this cleaner called Technu. You can find it in most pharmacies or Walmart or Target, etc. It is specifically for poison ivy. It washes out the poisonous oils so the poison ivy dries up and won't spread. Just follow the directions on the bottle. It's also great if you know you've been exposed to poison ivy because if you wash with it before it shows up too, it will stop it from coming. Good luck.
Ouch! See your doctor...and oh-don't kiss anyone!

Poisom ivy?

hey just wondering any quick remedies for poison ivy i heard bleach/clorox... ive been scrathing it open and putting alcohol on it
Answer:
I have severe reactions to poison ivy and the best thing I've ever used is Ivarest ...worked great and fast dried it out pretty much over night...got it at local drug store. As for home remedies a paste of water and baking soda will dry it out.
http://landscaping.about.com/cs/weedsdis...
stop, stop, stop! Scratching poison ivy open will cause it to spread!
Also DO NOT pour bleach on it!
Go to the store and get some over the counter poison ivy stuff. (Calamine lotion, etc) They are in with 1st aid supplies.
My wife got amazing good results taking Hyland Poison Oak/Ivy pills as directed. Homeopathic Rhus Tox also comes well recommended.
Go "old school",and use Calomine lotion.
You are going to need an ocean;
of calamine lotion.
You'll be scratching like a hound.
The minute you start to mess around, Poison Ivy. Wash it, swab it down with calamine lotion, keep using it until the symptoms go away. You may not want to put that alcohol on, it will sting like heck.

Plzz i want to quit masturbation...plz dont tell me its bad coz i know about it..but i want to quit..plz help?

plz give me a time table wat should i do ..i;m 14 yrs old..plz tell me
Answer:
why do you want to stop? someone told you it was sinful or something? at 14 you would be weird if you did keep your hands off of it. trust me who ever told you it was bad is spankin' it right now or will be soon.
Dont nlaks; worri abot a;lk l;i it...man it's hard to type with one hand.
one can never stop mastubating...its a part of life. i'm sorry that you feel guilty about ,.. but it's very normal..100% of everbody mastubates..just not as often as when you are in your teens...
If you want to quit, it's your choice. Don't let other people tell you how you should feel about it.
If you masturbate from watching porn, check out www.xxxchurch.com for help. It's a Christian website, but has help for anyone!
If you masturbate just by fantasizing, you need to find something else to do with your time. Exercising is a good way to work off your sexual energy. If you are spiritual, mediation or studying can be helpful.
It's really hard to quit by yourself. If you can find someone you trust who will support you (not online- a real person!) this will be the most important thing.
Almost every guy struggles with this, and you aren't the only one who wants to quit.

Plz urgent !!?

well i was playing with my cat and she accidently bit my right index finger tip and went through the nail and the other side is well through too my finger nail looks like a windshell that had a huge rock thrown on it and it's bleeding a looks like it's bruising a little it hurts so bad i feel like i'm going to throw up did she break my finger tip plz tell me what to do it hurtss soooo bad =[
Answer:
I doubt she broke your finger but with a cat bite that draws blood it is a good idea to go to the emergency room. Cat bites are nasty full of bacteria that can infect so bad you would need your hand amputated. Now, I'm not saying this is going to happen, but it needs to be properly cleansed by medical personnel and you'll probably need a tetanus shot along with antibiotics.
no she dident BREAK it cat's mouth's arent strong enough to do that much. just go wash it off and get get a bandage. Well gl!
have you had a tetinus, if not you need one!! also you may loose your finger nail bandage it up and see a doc!
You should go to a walk in clinic or emergency to get it taken care of properly. The Dr. will give you a tetanus shot and perhaps an antibiotic. That way you won't get infection. In the mean time put your finger in salt water to clean it out.

Plz help?

my bf was experiencing red and soreness around the head of his genitle and wonder if any body can help me what it is?
Answer:
Possibly thrush. Especially if there are tiny little bumps around the head. I get it when my husband uses saliva as a lubricant and then he gets it from me! Best to see a Doctor to be sure - especially if its a new relationship.
an infection
sounds like an STD he needs to see a doc.
Get yourself checked too
its maybe caused by lack of moisture on that area, say he wiped the end with a tissue it will go red raw because there is no protective layer there now. also he is maybe allergic to latex, or dry sex could have caused this, best to keep an eye on it, the inflamed-ness-ity whatever, will hopefully calm down in a day or so. a mild or non scented moisturiser may help sooth the soreness he is experiencing.
Phone NHS Direct in the UK0845 4647
has he been checked for herpes?
An infection,because of urinary system.
sounds like thrust to me get him some canistan cream from ur local chemist if it hasn't cleared up or made little improvement in a couple of days tell him 2 see his GP

PLz Help..what to do!?

i went to the beach yesterday and i got sun burned on my legs back arms and chest my back and legs are killing me i can't even walk good the are sooo red and it hurts i couldn't sleep well at night. what are some home remedies that can help me get the redness and the pain off!! thank you for you help in advance!! i feel my legs and back on fire!!
Answer:
Aloe works great. Get the biggest bottle you can find... smother your burns in it after a bath/shower.
put some after sun cream on them to help cool it down and drink plenty of fluids.
Use aloe lotion - get it at the drugstore.
Or find an aloe plant, break open the leaves and rub the gel on the burn.Next time use sunscreen, or cover up!
Any ointment with apirin in it will keep down the inflammation, but it may sting going on. Any after sun lotion or moisturizer will help you from blistering to badly, but still may sting going on. You can also take ibuprofen up to 800mg 3x/day with food that keeps down inflamation. You've got about 2 full days of pain ahead of you. Use something for sunscreen next time. You can still tan, but you control the rate.
Take as hot as shower as you can stand. Start with it warm and work it hotter and hotter, when you get out and air dry it will take some of the heat out of the burn.
Try soaking a soft cloth in vinegar and patting your skin with it. I should take a lot of the burning out.
Aloe Vera...the real stuff from an actual plant. A cool shower might help take some of the heat out of the burn for a little while. Prevention is best though (for future reference), unless you want to look 75 when you are 40...use a good quality sunblock with an SPF to suit the amount of time you intend to spend in the sun. The longer you intend to be out, the higher the SPF. Also a beach umbrella does wonders when you are going to be sitting still while out in the sun. Feel better soon!
its called sun screen you should try it
Anytime you get burned, you can try a few things. First, stay away from ANYthing with alcohol - unless you're into pain. Secondly, NOXEMA (blue and white container) works great!! As soon as you put it on, it's cooling and soothing. It's meant as a facial wash, but I've used this since I was a little kid for every sunburn - it works!! Once everything feels cool, you can rub it in and it helps the area stay moist and not dry out, which causes the pain. AVOID ANY type of perfume, alcohol or lotion that has unknown ingredients. You can even keep the Noxema in the refrigerater so it'll go on cold. It feels good, I promise!!
How serious is the sunburn? Is it pink, or a deeper red? Someone already mentioned soaking a washcloth in vinegar. That will work to minimize the sting on the surface. Also, if you begin to develop blisters, please go immediately to a doctor, or to the ER. A doctor can prescribe something called silvadine, which will speed the healing process of the new skin, while helping to minimize the risk of infection of open blisters. Also, taking the prescribed amount of ibuprofen (Motrin) or acetaminophen (Tylenol) will definitely help with the pain and uncomfortableness. Please be sure to use sunscreen to protect your skin. Melanomas have become increasingly widespread among young people.

Pls help me get some sleep?

i want to sleep but every time i feel my bed or lay on it..all possible thoughts get into my head i cant stop thinking ...plus im over stressed i dont know why...i cant sleep unless its past 1am or 3 am
i want to sleep at 9pm but cant...i tried not to sleep at from 7am to 9 pm so i would get tired but still im exhausted and cant sleep...i tried to drink milk nothing happends..plss help...
Answer:
valerian root (herbal), purchased from health food store and Walgreens has some too.
Try listening to your teacher's lecture on tape while you lay down.
If you have so many stresses, than remember that it could always be worse. Dont let the good things in life pass you by just because of something bad that happened. As far as sleeping, you should start a journal. Before you go to bed everynight write down your worries, thoughts, goals, whatever is running in your mind that's keeping you awake. It will help by releasing all the stress from your mind.
Get counselling and try deep breathing
several suggestions.1. Try meditation, 30 minutes to one hour prior to going to bed. Clear your mind and relax without trying to go to sleep. Let your mind wonder over the things that have you stressed during this time, deal with what you can, release what you can't so that when you go to bed and it tries to crowd into your mind you can brush it aside. Doesn't always work, but it is a good first step.2. Chamomile tea with willow bark, and if you are that stressed no more than a teaspoon of St. John's Wort in a tea ball, honey, lemon, after the tea has steeped and drink it half an hour to fifteen minutes before bed. Chamomile is a natural soporific, willow bark is a natural pain killer, and St John's Wort is a natural anti depressant. The three combined will help you relax. Honey and Lemon are to taste and to cut the bitter of the willow bark. 3. If you are in need of quick solutions, try some OTC sleep aids, the stuff in Tylenol PM is just Benadryl, and it does help, short term.Good Luck
Have you had a sudden change in your life recently. (long lost
family members, sudden lose of family members etc). if so, you may be suffering from a clinical depression. Talk to your family doctor. It can also be something else.
Also, try to cut or limit your caffeine in-take

PLS HELP ASAP! I am crying in excruisiating pain!!!?

Iknow I have noclue how to spell excruisiating Ok.
I went to the doctors a couple days agp because I hade realy bad ear (or what I thought was cased by the ear) pain. Turns out I have TMJ. Somethign is wrong wit my jaw. I am supposed to talk minimally and not eat really anything that i have to chew. I wake up every morning really early because I am in SOOO much pain from the inside of my ear, to te bottom of my jaw. I take 2 advil every 5 hrs. I am 12 years old. PLS HELP ME! If it is this bad, should my mom take m to the ER?I mean, I am crying. PLZ HELP!
Answer:
You need to see an Otolaryngologist. (commonly referred to as an ENT)
omg yes! tell her to take you ASAP. that is dangerous!
If you went to the doctor and found out you have TMJ then why hasn't the doctor done something about it? Sounds like you need to go back to the doctor. Also, it won't hurt you to take 3 advil each time, but you need to quit it as soon as the doctor gives you something for the pain.
yes i def think u shoukd go to teh ER.. but one advice from me is try not to think about it cause teh more u think the more it is going to hurt you.. always keep urself busy with something and maybe the pain will be less.. if u go to the Er they will give medication to numb the pain.. even if teh problem is not from your ear and its comming from lur jaw ask for sleep mediaction so u can sleep at night your jaw they will still give u something to take and if u want asking i know how u feel cause ear pain is the worst ...and i realy do hope u feel better = )

The options for home care are somewhat limited. Both cold and warm compresses have been recommended, as have hot baths. Certainly, a hot bath would seem to be of value because the pain is due primarily to muscle spasm. Obviously, over-the-counter pain relievers such as acetaminophen and ibuprofen may be of value in mild cases. Folk remedies have not proven to work, so i would take him to the hospital!! asap!! Peace!!
I would call 911!!
go to the ER
Its reputation exceeds its bite. If your brother is 3 or younger, or frail and elderly, this might be a true emergency, but otherwise, just call your doctor's office (yes, even on the weekend) and ask if they need to see him. If not, ask what treatment they recommend.
call /911 / NOW
are you sure? they're kind of rare depending where you are. why not get off the computer and call 911?
Emergency roommmmm NOWWWWWWW! My aunt was bitten by a brown recluse and she had to have part of her leg removed. I think Black Widows are a little more dangerous!

PLEASE tell me whats wrong?

Well my fiance has been throwing up a LOT lately, but its not food he ate its blood... what's wrong with him? And what should i tell him to do??
Answer:
Could be peptic ulcer, some malignancy, Meckel's diverticulum, bleeding disorder, platelet disorder like ITP. Could also be gastritis due to some drug, or esophageal varices due to chronic liver disease. Whatever the cause is, it is something pretty serious and has to be looked into urgently.
Tell him to get to the ER right now!
Honestly if its blood you need to go to the doctor or the ER right away.
You may have a ulcer? One that is bleeding, you better get to a Dr. or hospital for help.
That sounds pretty serious, tell him to go to a doctor right away; there could be a number of reasons but it may require medications so he should definitely see a doctor asap.

Please tell me what to do i feel sick?

today i woke up feeling kinda dizy and whenever i shake my head like if you where to say no but fast it hurts the right side of my brain but its like medium pain not really bad pain and i feel like i could passout any time now and sometimes well only two times i've fealt like throwing up
Answer:
Sounds like a migraine. Non prescription pills are not effective against migraine attacks in the most cases. You would have to try an over the counter medication get some rest and see while you get to the doctors office.
GO STRAIGHT TO YOUR DOCTOR. !!!
隆隆隆 VETE DIRECTAMENTE A VER TU MEDICO !
DON'T WASTE TIME.
隆隆 NO VACILES !!
Those are some of the classic symptoms of migraine. But it could also be something else such as an aneurism or stroke. Do not wait for more answers. Go to emergency or urgent care right now. Could save your life, or part of your brain.Good luck.

Please somebody tell me what this is lol?

Hiya, at the back of my throat (well as far back as the eye can see) i have a white lump on the side of the 2 semi circle parts of the thoat (not the dangly bit, but on either side of it) it is really painful and has givin me a fever, and has made me feel very dizzy, and no matter if i lay down or sit or stand i seem to be just as dizzy.does anyone know what it is, that i have? i thought i had the flu, but it is this thing in my throat that is making me feel sick, because anytime i swallow, the white lump touches the dangly bit, and goes back my throat a bit.(if anyone understands what i mean lol, please reply if you know what it is, and if there is any way of getting my throat better again)thanks for any genuine answers
xxxx
Answer:
This is what it sounds like to me. The link has pictures too, so you can see if it looks similar. Good luck to you, I hope you feel better.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/tonsillitis...
Here's a tip: when I had it I'd alternate eating a Popsicle, then drinking hot tea. The cold helps make it less sensitive to the pain, and the warm helps with the swelling. Also, gargling warm salt water helps kill the bacteria. Its a good thing to do till you can get to see a doctor.
go to your doctor now, I don't want it to block your breathing.
this is not something to play with.
go to webmd.com and they have a symptom checker there it really helpful
It sounds like tonsilitis. Get some antibiotics from your doctor. Get better soon x.
Could be a throat infection or tonsillitis, you need to visit your GP, maybe you need a course of antibiotics..
without seeing exactly what it looks like i can't be sure, but when you have strep throat you get white things in your throat and they can be very annoying. It will aslo cause a fever and pain. If it is strep you really need to get to the doc because it can get a whole lot worse and move. Last time I had it, it moved into my stomach and i was really really sick
It is tonsillitis, if it is really bad your GP will prescribe antibiotics for you. Otherwise just use some painkillers and an antiseptic throat lozenge. If the tonsillitis keeps returning you may have to have them removed.
I don't know but go to the doctor and don't ask people like me for medical advice..
you have tonsillitis and need some anti biotics from your doc, but you could also gargle with warm salty water to ease the infection while you wait for your appointment
Hi hope your feeling better very soon but you should really go to your GP sounds like laryngitis or tonsillitis, just go for piece of mind good luck and hope you get better x
ouch! It sounds like you've got tonsillitis. you got to see your docGet well soon x
sounds like some kind of STD but for your safety i suggest you go see your doctor quick before more lumps start appearing down your throat
Tonsilitis!
sounds like tonsilitus go and see ur doctor honey coz thats ur tonsils and the only way of clearing it is antibiotics. hope u feel better soon xxx
It sounds like you have the beginning of possibly strep throat and/or tonsillitis. You will want to do get it checked out by your health care professional to have a throat swab done to rule out the Strep possibility.
If you are dizzy please have someone drive you to the doctor. I had tonsillitis and strep last year and the symptoms were pretty much the same. Good Luck
you have tonalities. you need to get some antibiotic's from your DR
I'd echo the advice to see your GP. But I have to ask Mamsyo:
what the heck is 'tonalities'? Is it tone-deafness?
Sounds like tonsillitis - see doctor asap for antibiotics! I haev had it twice and have been in agony, been sick, dizzy, bad headaches! Is not just a sore throat!!Hope you feel better!!
It sounds like strep throat or tonsillitis of it swells to much it can block your airway so I would go to the doctor as soon as possible. Hope you feel better good luck
It's called tonsillolith (tonsillo=tonsils and lith=stones). They are small food particles that gets trapped in the folds of your tonsils. They stink. When they get big, its starts coming out. The only way you can remove it is to express it using your fingers or a long q-tip. Or if you can inhibit your gag reflex, use a water pik and channel the output to that particular fold. Make sure waterpik is set to the lowest setting because it can hurt you. I know this because I have this once in a while and I have my doctor look at it. He was surprised that I know what it's called. I have doctor friends too. Or to eliminate gettting it anymore, have your tonsils removed. I didn't consider the latter.
Tonsillitis, it's really not nice, but try not to take paracetamol etc as they just slow down your bodies natural way of dealing with it. Antibiotics will help, but always finish the course even if you feel better after one or two of the tablets.
If you get these symptoms again at a separate time, then you can have your tonsils removed surgically, which causes little change to anything, but will obviously remove any chance of you getting tonsillitis again.

PLEAse ReAd? VeRy UrGeNt??!?

I'm getting my ears pierced tomorrow and I was wondering how bad it hurt? does it feel like a pinch or worse?
Answer:
its not going to be painless but honestly its a sting for a second and thats it. just make sure you have had a sugary drink or summn before hand because your blood sugar could dip especially if your worried dont want you passing out lol if you have second thoughts dont go through with it and make sure you know the person doing it is qualfied and the equipment is sterile. keep it clean and bathe it reguarly to prevent infection while ts healing. good luck! x-x-x
its doesnt hurt
just a quick pinch nothing major at all.
It just feels like a pinch...it doesn't hurt at all.
Doesn't hurt much at all, just like a sting really...But if you're this worried then don't get it done, it'll lead to piercings on all parts of your body and probably tattoo's!
hardly any pain at all
you wont really feel it, nothing to worry about at all.
It does not hurt at all in my opinion. A slight bit of pressure for a second, that's all. Then you may feel a warm sensation in your lobes for a little while after. Nothing to be afraid of at all.
yes just a pinch it's fine
a tiny litle pinch, that's all
Cheetah Chick:Please, relax and take a breather. You're all upset and worried over nothing.Just make sure it's a qualified person with hygenic/sterilized equipment doing it...More people suffer from infection afterwards than from the actual process itself...The person can give you instructions on how to keep this from happening. Just ask them questions if you have any concerns about it.So make sure of those proper things; and the other things will handle themselves, and you'll find there was really nothing to it at all...Good luck, eh?!
slight pinch doesnt hurt
it really dosen't- ya i guess like a pinch, maybe less... i promise ifa baby can do it, so can u!!andif anyone tells u different- they r tryin to scare u!!i promise take a deap breath before they do it and u'll be fine!! ;Dhope i helped!
More like a tight nip...Think about it - if it hurt THAT much we'd all have ONE piercing - I'm very old and I've got 5... and I'm considering another 2!You go girl, you'll never regret it!
its unbelivable pain, it hurts for weeks, then theirs the bleeding, and i wont mention the loss of hearing..
I got mine pierced as a young adult (age 25). The day of it, it wasn't too bad, like a shot in the hip. Afterward, it hurt me more for several days, like a bad headache in both ear lobes.People I know who got them pierced as teens said it was much better, both the first day and afterward.
its slightly uncomfortable like a sharp sting but is so quick u will hardly notice dont worry x
dont be a wimp theres more painful things in life to look forward to! like giving birth for example!!
my daughter says its a bit like little bee sting if you dont like needles but dont worry it will be fine
hardly any pain at all
You wont feel a thing nothing to worry about..shorter and less painful than taking an injection...blame your mother for the pain as she could have taken you when you were a child...not thats there is pain but just in case..
well it did sting a bit but nothing to lose sleep over.
it hurts!
Really doesn't hurt at all, just a slight pinch. Just make sure that you keep the ear-lobes clean (bathe in boiled, cooled water with some salt in) after you've had them done to prevent infection.
yes it hurt me a lot , it went bad and i had to have my ear taken off
DON'T get it done in Claire's Accessories.Everyone I know who has ever had it done in there, it has hurt like hell and gone septic.I had mine done in Claire's. Mine hurt permanently for 3 years and they kept going green and yellow and bleeding, and then I let them close up. Then I pierced them myself in a different place with blunt earrings and they were fine.
dosent hurt, go for it !
Lets say it doesn't take as long as a shot. Were they stick it in the push the meds then slowly remove. Now the air gun is very fast. Yes you will be nervous when the mark your years but it will happen so fast and it's over. A pinch hurt and bursis.
My daughter is petrified of needles and I got her ears pierced at 2yrs old. But when everyone was getting 2 she wanted to. We went out way out there got in the store and said NO. I believe she was in the 6th-7th grade and now almost 24 and still
If they're using a piercing gun to pierce them it's just a quick pop and doesn't hurt that bad, if you're getting larger piercings they use a hollow needle which does kind of hurt a bit. But I got my ears pierced when I was 16 real quick then stretched when I was 21 to 10 guage piercings it hurt more with the hollow tipped needle. One thing I would suggest is make sure they disenfect all the tools they use to pierce. I once heard some nasty things about the guns, so ask them to clean it with some alcohol and you should be fine. Good Luck and find some good earings
Probably no worse than the needle used to give an injection at the dentist, and a lot quicker so you dont have the sensation of it going in like with the needle.
Bang and its done - but it will throb for a day or two. Just keep the holes clean and prevent infection.

PLEASE READ QUICK! ITS TOMORROW mORNING!?

In my home water supply they found lead. so i have to get a blood test. now be honest does it hurt. its not a finger prick in the finger its a blood test in the arm. i dont think that shots hurt me and my parents told me it hurts less then a shot, but my friends told me it hurts way more. can you please let me know. i wanta to know the truth.
Answer:
It doesn't hurt, relax, look away and focus on something different. It really isn't any worse than a shot, they take the blood from the inside elbow
It's not bad. Just don't look if you don't like needles. You feel a little prick and that's all. You have probably been hit harder by a sibling or a ball or something. It's over quick.
It hurts more or less for different people, so I really couldn't tell you. I personally only feel a pinch but needles never bothered me.The best thing you can do it just to not stress it. If you stress over something like a needle it actually does cause a chemical reaction in your body that will make it hurt more because your body will tense up. If needles do make you nervous I'd suggest looking away when it's happening and thinking in detail about something different. Something you like, or something you are looking forward to. It's a proven stressbuster.
It doesn't hurt. You should trust in believe in your parents, over your friends. Anyway, If you may have a chance of being exposed to lead poisoning Who Cares? Sometimes you have to suffer in life to do the right thing, it's called growing up.

Please Read & Answers :)?

Hi, I have felt dizzy for about 2 - 3 days now..
I haven't done anything to cause this besides:
Not eating well
Lack of sleep, but I have imsomnia.
Not eating healthy
Not enough excerise
%26 I'm mostly watching T.V.Do you think I'm dizzy because of these reasons?
Please Answer.
Thanks.
Answer:
Thanks for wasting my time.
Uh...yeah? It's hard to self-diagnose though, I suggest if you're worried you should go see a doctor. It could be more serious.
Yes, you most certainly can become dizzy from all the above reasons. The dizziness may be the least of your worries ! Why are you letting yourself become so despondent ? Please call a friend or confide with someone you trust, anyone to help you out of this funk. You are exhibiting some major signs of depression. Please try to eat something and make that call . Take care. SW RNP
Yeah, those are probably the reasons, but if you feel that these syptoms are really bad, then you should try looking them up online or seeing a doctor (it would probably be best for you to go see a doctor). You may also want to try eating more veggies, but if your not a veggie person you can try Vitamin suppliments.
I swear some of these questions are ridiculous.how can you even waste you time asking this if you already know the answer? Your not an idiot are you?

Please please please help...?

have Carpal Tunel in my left hand and it hurts like H311 I really want to find some way to ease the pain.Id appreciate any help i can get
I need things safe for a pregnant woman and things u can find around home...i cant get out til tomorow and i want temporary relief
Answer:
Do you have anything wrapped around it? some support and pressure could be very helpful with the pain. I f you don't have a tensor and can't get out, cut some strips from an old t-shirt or something similar to use as a wrap. You want it to be material that has some stretch and give to it so you don't cut off your circulation. Wrap it around your wrist and hand several times and secure with tape. It will also keep the area warm, which could help as well. I hope you feel better soon, being in pain is not fun.
there are splints you can buy.. cost is about 25 dollars in Canada.. they help
ice pacs - you can use bags of veggies. Good luck to you!
ask your doctor for a wrist brace. i use them. they work fantastic!!
Hello
I am sorry you are hurting, I used to suffer from carpal tunnel too till I found a product that works for me , it comes from Switzerland and it is called OIL 31. My pain is gone, I do nto know if it will work on you I can just tell you that it does wonders for me.
Good luck.
Sit down and listen to a good radio program or to some music.
any Vick's vapo rub in the house? try that. Red peppers. Horse radish. Ice cubes. Frozen peas still in the bag. Or wrap a wool sweater around your wrist .
Pain relievers if any on hand.?Ace bandage if you got one?I personally wear one on my right wrist that I bought from Wal -Mart,@ Muller,is the brand.Heard there is no cure.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP! I asked this question but need to add more for u to understand?

Ok so I have an appointment in a month for pain management and when I called my doctor and told her I need more medication for it to work she told me to wait for pain management. So here's what the question was before:
I'm normally prescribed a pain killer and I had went to the ER the other night. They prescribed me the same med. I am wondering if my Doctor will know what quantity they gave me. I'm pretty sure that they will send a report over to my Dr. anyways to notify of my ER visit but I am mainly concerned about my Dr. knowing how many I was prescribed because I need another refill because I'm out a little early because I was seriosly in a great amount of pain. PLEASE HELP ME! I gotta know
Answer:
are you addicted to these things?
don't overdose. it can cause addiction
Be honest with your Dr always and es theywill get a report from the ER if you gave them your DRs name unless it is on file. You need to stop freaking out and try doing some deep breathing and relaxation exercises. Google relaxation exercises
If you don't tell your doctor, the doctor won't know. Just don't say anything. I've been in a lot of pain before. Serious, horrible, horrific, excruciating pain. Painkillers helped temporarily but I feel they can cause even more pain in the long run. I was taking two vicodin an hour at one point and when it would wear off, I felt like even my hair hurt. I realized pain meds are the worst thing you can take in the long run. Anti-inflammatories work much better for me now. The side effects of the painkillers are horrible and the withdrawal is even worse. You should be getting to the root of your pain and deal with that rather than masking the pain. What is the reason for your pain?
They generally fax your doc over a copy but expect you to follow up with your today and tell what went on in the ER.
u sound addicted to these pain killlers which is commmon...are u in any pain physically? or are u emtionally paining becuase u have the need for these pills
Your doctor will receive the information from the ER as long as you provided your doctor's name on the forms. If not then you need need to tell your doctor everything. You don't want to take the wrong dose because you don't want to overdose on anything.Be safe!
hey i think you will b ok ok i had a script 4 vics and i would go 2 the walk in all the time to get pain meds 2 cuz i went through them so fast they dont really look into it 2 mutch unless they think u have a real prob they have better things 2 do ps im a recoverd addict so no matter what drug i take it takes more then it should 2 do the job if that is the case with u mabey u should let then know if you feel you can tell them that and still get what you want good luck i know what its like 2 be in pain
If your Dr. is fully competent and knows you are in pain (sent you to pain management you should have no problem. If he drops you as a patient, he has to write a letter and treat you for 1 more month and is not worth being your Dr.
i.ve been there before, i woul.NT say any thing about the er . i.m not sure they let him know do you? if your Dr. dose find i would say that you didn't take them because 6hey made you itch badly he won.t ask 4 them back so their for you did take a few but stopped. N U have been in pain all this time always say the pain kept you up every nite they DO NOT like to here that! good luck i can tell you any thing about that kind of stuff
No they will not send a report that you were their only if you ask them to send sine kind of report but no they don't do that with your consent so get worry off you mind , also he won;'t know you got a script. either. So if you don't tell him he won't know. I wished I knew what pain medication he gave you because if they don't work good for you tell him and he is suppose to give you something so you will not suffer with your pain , Dr. don't want anyone to be in pain and until you get the medication they helps he doing his job no one should suffer with soon many kinds of pain medication out here now but they do have to be prescript by A Dr. So stay on your Dr. until he gives your right pain medication, if the one he gives you know doesn't help tell him and ask him to try anothere kind because like I said that they are alot of kinds out here now but only the one your Dr. give you are the best ones. the only people that know wheather you can get some more of the same kind is the drug store you got them at if it not time for you to get some more than they will tell you, So the best thing you can do is ask the Dr. to try some new pain medication which the will mean it will be a compelely new precrisption. And it does not matter what drug store you go to the have compters that keep track of an allows of medication for everybody now but only if its the same one , like I said if its a new one than its a new one but if want the same kind that they will have it on computer if its time for some more or not? So see what is says on the bottle and see it would be time for the same and can get some more or not.
If you gave the emergency department your Doctors name, then they will send out a copy of your emergency chart. That usually includes what treatment was done and if a prescription was given, and for what drug and the amount given.
Your doctor is probably sending you to the pain management program because she realizes that the pills are not enough to take the pain away, and there may be a possiblity of you becoming addicted. Try phoning the pain management clinc and see if they have a cancellation list. Perhaps you could get in sooner. I know they do wonderful things for people with chronic pain.
There is no medicine for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.

Please only serious answers I have a lower back pain. What should I do?

Answer:
See a doctor or a chiropractor.
Aspirin and an icy hot patch
Exercising can help ease the pain.
there's all kinds of pains... you need to be more specific
go to a doc.
it is not clear what is your sex and what is your age.lower back may be due to diffrent cause diffrent in both sex.kindly
tell your age and sex
I have had the same problems for years and the best thing to do is to soak in a hot bath or put some ice on it. that always worked for me. if it gets really bad then I would suggest seeing your doctor and maybe they will have something better for you.
first off..you should see a doctor to determine WHY you have lower back pain. then you should ask your doctor about physical therapy or other ways like yoga or chiropracter.good luck!
Get medical specialist's attention without delay. Could be muscle or disc problem. Avoid carrying heavy stuff or too much bending for some time while the condition persists.Good luck!
If it is serious I would see a doctor. Until then you can take pain pills such as Aspirin or there are back-specific pills. You can also buy a heat pad and ice packs or a patch like Icy Hot. There are also muscle/pain relief cremes at any drug store. Good luck!
advil. =]
You need to see a doctor because you may have to have an MRI done.I had one done and found out I had disc problems..back problems are not something to mess around with.
go here:
http://www.rd.com/content/buff-your-shoe...scroll down to 13th Paragraph:"Mom, what are you ..." BAM! I slipped on a banana peel. "Ooh, my back ..." "Don't move," she yelled. "I'll get the meat tenderizer!" But first she pulled off my shoe, grabbed a sock and disappeared into the kitchen. I tried to run for my life, but Mom was quick. She returned with a paste made from meat tenderizer and water, and rubbed it on the small of my back. She then placed my sock -- which she'd filled with dried kidney beans and microwaved for thirty seconds -- over the paste. Before I had a chance to call 911, a curious thing happened -- my back began to feel better! The enzymes in the meat tenderizer were soothing my aching muscles. And the beanbag sock worked like a heating pad.
Other than that, maybe you can
a. go to a doctor
b. find out more specifically what your problem, and go to Yahoo Health for answers and such
c. get a massage
d. maybe lie down and put your legs up onto a higher level, like a chair, maybe
I say this b/c I once saw a show whatever and there was this lady whose um hernia disk or something has been dislocated, snapped, just awry or something, and the tips from the show (it was something like Whaddyado?-gives tips on situations you might encounter that are kind of dangerous to your being, and you don't know or are unsure of what to do) were like the one i mentioned above
but if you're problem is the not same as the one I just mentioned, which it probably isn't or else you would be calling 911 already for the intense pain that you would expeirence
anyway, and another thing that they said could help was like take ice from freezer, put into bag (ziploc or something) and put on bag for 10 minutes? then alternate with hot patch?
I'm really not sure, so maybe you can do more research into those patches thingsMy primary suggestion is in the article I gave, or the abc's that I've listed (not too much on 'd' and afterwards)
Hoped that this has helped and I hope that your back gets better! Bye
How much water have you drank lately? if the answer is a little bit your kidneys are screaming for water!
I hurt my lower back when I was pregnant and couldn't take decent pain meds, and my doctor told me to use a heating pad or stand under a hot shower for 15 minutes and then put an ice pack on for 15 more minutes. She said always go hot to cold so you don't hurt yourself. It helped me a lot. Lower back stretches are helpful too, just lie on your back and pull your knees up to your chest and rest like that. For a more long term solution, you might want to start working your abdominals as lower back pain can be caused by weak stomach muscles.
I had lower back pain for a long time before I started working out. Almost as soon as I started working out on a regular basis, the pain was gone. I've been working out for over a year now, and in that time, I've only had a few days where my back bothered me, which was mostly from my posture or my daily routine, but the workouts have helped tremendously.
Could be kidney stones. There is a very simple way to find out and that is to drink 2, 3 or even 4 glasses of water and if the pain goes within an hour or quicker then most likely it is kidney stones.Kidney stones simply love water and if you give them what they want in large amounts then they stop harassing you (temporarily).
You need to try a mixture of things. You should work out a few times a week, and see if that helps. Stretching is very important! Also, take pain medicine and do a heating pad.
To take the strain off your back when you go to bed you should do the following:
if you lay on your side: put a pillow between your legs
if you lay on your front : roll to your side, laying on your front puts a great deal of pressure on your back.I would make an appointment with your doctor also. I had upper back pain, and it resulted in me over working my shoulder at sports and i had to go to physical therapy, and now because i waited so long, i am always tense up there.
