Pain / numbness in shoulders?

For years now I have had throbbing sharp pains in both shoulders. It tingles and feels like they are going numb and feels like an elephant on both shoulders. I have gone through PT with no relief, also have tried ice and heat... nothing seems to work. I rotate my shoulders and I feel popping. Any ideas or suggestions?
Answer:
Since you have had this problem for years and PT didn't help I would consider chiropractics or acupuncture. At the chiro you can have adjustments and deep tissue massage to help relief the pressure on the nerves. It's important that even though you are not currently going through PT that you exercise and stretch as they taught you. Acupuncture can help with pain relief and many MDs today recognize that it helps even though we do not have a true understanding of how according to western medicine. I have done both chiropractics and acupuncture. The acupuncture reduced my pain quite a bit. I see a chiropractor regularly for adjustments and deep tissue massage to help with the muscle spasms.
This could be a sign of myocardial infarction where there is radiating pain from arms to shoulder.
