Pain and a little swelling in the scrotum?

My boyfriend woke up this morning complaining of a pain in his "balls". he said it feels like a dull pain. Over th past few hours he beliebes the right side is swelling. What could this be or what could cause this? Did he sleep the wrong way? It is nothing sexual either. And he has not hurst himself or been hit down there either...
Answer:
Most likely it is a case of epididymitis, an inflammation of a structure that sits atop the testicles.But, a more serious condition is Testicular Torsion, a situation where the blood supply to the testis is cut off, and can result in loss of the testicle. This is a true emergency. I suggest your boyfriend contact his doctor now, or go to the emergency room. He may need a Doppler ultrasound to rule out torsion. Otherwise he might spend the rest of his life 'firing on one cylinder".
blueballs?
Its hard to say,could be clog but i would see a doctor.No one can say what it is without tests%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;
It could be a torsion, where (I'm not sure) one of the vessels, maybe vas deferens, is twisted and diminishes circulation or cuts it off completely to the testicle. Very serious, and he should get to a doctor immediately. He could lose a ball.
it could be nothing more than his scrotum getting into a bad position during the night resulting in some compression and resulting discomfort. Much like sleeping on your arm and waking to that pins and needles sensation. Just feels weirder when it happens to the testicles.BUT if it doesn't clear up in 48 hours then feel free to take his testicles to a doctor and have them examined.
