Question about a broken finger?

My little finger broke (at around the second knuckle) about 3 weeks ago and i went to the doctor and did all the procedures required. After 3 weeks I took off the splint (what the doctor told me to do) but the finger is still swollen at the base. And now i could barely bend it . What should i do
P.S i am only 13 years old
Answer:
Go back to the DrI broke mine about a month ago (slammed it in a heavy gates locking bar while working a beer festival - wouldn't have minded but I was sober), luckily only the bottom joint, and on my right hand (I'm left handed), and had no treatment. It's still sore (in fact hurts like hell now as just typed with it) but no swelling so you need to be checked out
go back to the doctor
soak it in Epsom salt
Don't worry mmy dear, its normal. Usually broken finger heals within three months time. Don't forced your finger to bend, it hurts. It's better if you will not touched it often, natyrally the swelling will subside after a few weeks but still the pain is there. It will heal completely after three months.
If your finger's broken at the second knuckle and swollen at the base you have something else going on and it needs to be evaluated.
In general, swelling is your body's way of speeding up the healing process. After the second day after an injury, the swelling should stop. Meaning that something is still probably injured in the area that's swollen.
My son broke his scapula and the radiologist that read his xray didn't catch it. It took another doc to figure it out.
Maybe they missed something. Good luck.
The good news is : you are 13 years old, you should recovered sooner than older. The bad news is. littlefinger is weak joint, bones and muscles, mean, take a longer time to recovery ( it happened to me once in my thumb, the only i did was ice compressing on thespot so it didnt get worsen but took longet than a month to total recovery).
There is a kind of supplementthat you can consume, with active ingredients called msm etc. But i suggest you dont need it ( fitness people use it mostly). Or, take sesame oil to cover the broken area, but dont massage it. sesame oil is good for bones and joints.
Go to doctor to check further progress, ask him does ice compress help the swollen or not, in my experience, it is helping much anykind of swollen.
So, from now on, think to make your fingers flexible and stronger, any injury will recover sooner than you think.
you should soak it in warm water and GENTLY try to bend it. if it doesnt feel better in 2 days after taking the splint off you should go to the doctor. it may not be healed all the way. good luck and god bless
