On average how long does it take for a broken (arm) bone to heal?

Like how many weeks and stuff?
And also, what are casts made out of?
Answer:
A safe estimate would be between 6 - 8 weeks in a cast depending on the type of break and the activity level of the individual. A moor active person the Dr. would probably leave the cast on longer so the injury will be completely healed and less likely to be re injured. The casting material is a type of medical grade plaster and Fiberglas. And most places have colors now so the cast can be a individual kinda thing.
with a cast 6 weeks
and cats are made of a kind of tape that hardens
Broken bones heal at different rates, depending on the age of the child and the type of fracture. Young children can heal as quickly as 3 weeks, while it may take as long as 6 weeks for the same kind of fracture to heal in teens. Most likely, your son's arm was put in a cast. Some casts are waterproof and some are not, so be sure to check with your doctor about the best way to care for the cast. You should also check with the doctor to see what activities your son can participate in, and when he can get back to his normal lifestyle. With a little TLC, he'll be back in the swing of things in no time%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;Hope this helps and good luck.
I think they take about 6 weeks to heal. The cast are made out of plaster/gauge stuff. It's kind of like paper mache with gauge.
Well depends on how severe it is injured, like whether it is a fracture for injury etc,If its a fracture it may take weeks to join again,n if its a bone injury than it may take days to heal.
I have NO IDEA what casts are made out of but your arm should heal between 2-3 weeks, good luck 2 ya!
casts are made of a substance like cement emdedded in gauze
your arm will heal in 3-4 weeks
it usually takes 4 to 6 weeks to heal, unless it needs to be reduced then 6 plus weeks, cast are made of plaster, fiberglass and plastic.
This all depends on different factors, Age,sex,Diet,severity,location... and either compound or hair-line fracture. about 4-6 weeks.
It's also possible that a broken arm won't heal in a cast. I broke both bones in my arm four years ago and was put in a cast to start with. Long story short, it looked like both of the bones had healed and I had the cast removed. I came back a week later and found out that one of the bones hadn't healed and was curving in at the break (I don't know the correct terminology for that). I ended up needing to have surgery to put a 3-inch plate and three screws in my arm.
