but im scared of smoking since im pregnant now. I believe im about a month. Will this affect me or is it ok since im not too far along?
Answer:
--------%26gt; Please -DO NOT SMOKE- when you are Pregnant it will hurt the baby! If you care which I'm sure you do you will ignore the urge to smoke and replace it with somthing else like food or coffee until you have the baby and yes I know that is hard my sister did it though when she was pregnant and she now has 2 very healthy boys! So please think about your -Baby- that is going to be born.. %26lt;----------

If you're pregnant, you should NOT smoke EVER during pregnancy. Birth Defects can happen any time.
NO you do not need a cig. I am a smoker and once I found out I was pregnant for both of my children, I quit cold turkey, not for my health but for theirs.
It is NOT YOU that is affected it is the BABY that is affected by the cigarettes. If you want a cigarette that bad call your health insurances ask a nurese hotline or ER and ask them for suggestions on how to deal with this.
I know it's hard, but just think of your baby breathing that in. Not to mention all of the poss hlth problems that he/she could have all because you smoked. Check this out:http://pregnancy.about.com/cs/smokingpre...
It's ok to smoke a little, if you don't, your bady could go into shock and that would harm the baby more than a cig would.. what i did is i would just take a few hits and put it out, like smoke half of one, then later smoke the other half, it will be ok, just don't do it alot, eventually you will be able to quit if you want to.. but its ok to have a little just to keep your body calm..
The greatest gift we have is life and most people usually take that for granted. And now, more than that, you also have a new life within you. It is a gift of God to you. If you value that gift and that new life within you. Then you know what's the right thing to do. Do it now and not later.
I'm a smoker and never had kids but I know of a friend who was a smoker, too and she just gradually quit before the baby was born and he was very healthy...9.5 lbs. So try to do something else when the urge hits you and eventually it'll go away. Hopefully, once you quit, you can stay smoke-free.
